TTRPGs for kids: The “Good Enough” session

I have read about, received messages from, and talked with several families and educators who are hesitant to start TTRPGs with their kids because they’re stressed about getting all the steps right.

While some concern is great (because it means that you’re thinking about it and trying to do well for the kids), it is also sometimes better to have a “good enough” session that actually happens versus a “perfect” session that stays in the planning phase.

This game was made as part of the Coinside Adventure Sparks Jam and is a fun call-out to games like Mario and Legend of Zelda, includes two platformer style maps for players to explore, is system agnostic, and is great for running as a side quest or a one-shot.

After playing the “Market Day” adventure from the Kiwi Acres series for Mausritter, kiddo was asking when we could play again! This was a fun story and system to try out, and I hope you enjoy it too!

If you’re looking for a cute TTRPG that helps teach SEL alongside a chaotic gremlin, this game is PERFECT. It helped us (so both my kid and me) talk about some mischievous behaviors and look at we what both could do when trouble happens because of that.
