Helping you find free and pay-what-you-want games for your kids! This list + tips for searching

I made this list to help you find tabletop RPGs that listed as either free or PWYW (pay-what-you-want) based on viewer request!

In order to manage the scope, I’m posting games here that I have reviewed or featured on the site and that are specifically free/PWYW and not with a price + community copies.

I would also recommend to check out the big TTRPGs list for games that offer community copies as well since some creators (myself included) will sometimes add free copies of their game for special events or from donations. Because this fluxuates, I did not include them in my list, but they are out there. There are also many creators who will offer free games for educators or those in need if you contact them or offer a review (again, myself included), if you are really looking for other options beyond this list.

As a bit of a disclaimer, I did my best to sort through the games here so you can have an easier time reviewing and picking some options that will work for your particular players without having to search around. I also know that everyone is different, so please review any games for yourself and your particular players before jumping in and assuming it will be OK.

Suggestions for adding to this list of diceless tabletop RPGs

If you have a recommendation for a game to add, please let me know through the TTRPGkids contact page so I can consider adding it to this list or my big game list

For recommendations, I’m looking for tabletop RPGs that are listed as free or PWYW and that are geared at kids or are intended for all-ages, as they are currently published (so, without homebrew modifications).

I’ll be adding to this game list as I come across more free and PWYW TTRPGs, so stay tuned – I update it monthly based on any new games I’ve tried out the past few weeks, so it will be changing as I add to the site.
