The Sandy the Dragon Trilogy (small scale journey, before the beach, and snowy celebration) is part of the original set of stories about Sandy, a young dragon who is still learning to and getting used to flying. As they explore the world and meet with friends, they’ll learn about self-regulation and facing challenges with curiosity and calm.

How do these adventures work?

This game/story uses the StoryGuider system and is intended for ages 2-7.   It’s a choose your adventure coloring book, which means that you’ll read a story, pick what the character does, AND color the pages how you want.

StoryGuider: A Small-Scale Dragon’s Journey, a starting adventure for kids!

StoryGuider: A Small-Scale Dragon’s Journey is a premade tabletop RPG adventure for pre-K kids about a little dragon named Sandy who wants to go to a sleepover at their friend’s cave.  However… Sandy hasn’t quite learned to fly yet, and their friend lives across the forest and up a mountain.  Help Sandy make choices along their journey to get to their friend’s home and learn how to deal with doing new things along the way.

In addition to the core StoryGuider skills, this game also helps:

• Develop simple coping skills for trying something new
• Introduce map navigation

StoryGuider: Bewildered Before the Beach, a summer themed adventure for kids!

StoryGuider: Bewildered Before the Beach is a premade tabletop RPG adventure for pre-K kids continuing the story of Sandy the Dragon from StoryGuider: A Small-Scale Dragon’s Journey. Sandy now wants to use their newfound flying abilities to travel to a beach party!  Help Sandy travel to the beach and learn how to calm down and what to do when they get lost.

Skills practice built in

StoryGuider is designed for fun and skills practice.  All stories practice the following skills:

• Make choices between two options
• Point to pictures when they are named
• Give short answers (1-4 words)
• Play make-believe games
• Practice body exercises (gross motor skills)
• Color pictures and doodle (fine motor skills)

And then each story also focuses on 1-3 additional core social-emotional or learning-critical skills for kids!

About the StoryGuider system

StoryGuider is a system to help make simple stories with your kid(s) so they can get used to tabletop role-playing games (TTRPGs), decision-making, problem-solving, etc.

It focuses only on the RP side of TTRPGs (there are optional dice roll rules provided, but they are not required).  This is so kids can get used to playing as a character and changing the story without having to simultaneously worry about learning mechanics that they are not familiar with.  It is a stepping stone into playing more rules-based TTRPGs OR can just be a fun interactive story time experience!
