I previously reviewed Michael’s game, Starsworn and listened to the playthroughs on Stories Podcast, and they were both so good, I kind of had to do an interview. Michael has a lot of experience and insight in playing TTRPG’s with kids and has done wonders for the kids in his educational programs! We talked about the games, advice, why TTRPG’s work so well with kids… so much solidly helpful information.
I was very excited to review StarSworn, not just because it is a system my kid can easily pick up, but because it comes from a fam-friendly story podcast! This game was a lot of fun to play, and my kid (and I) are enjoying listening to the podcast as well!
I have played, reviewed, and really enjoyed Colin’s Family Fantasy RPG’s before, but now I had the opportunity to sit down and have a chat! We talked about Colin’s experiences playing with his kid, how he started writing kid’s games, what he loves about the FamFantasy games, and what’s coming next!
When I first heard of DnD Adventure Club, I was excited to check it out! It is a monthly D&D adventure subscription with ready-made stories that are appropriate for and geared at kids ages 8-12! I loved reviewing the quickstart and first adventure for DnD Adventure Club and think this would be great for kids and for adult players who are new to D&D alike!
I had the pleasure to interview Rich, creator of Inspirisles and director of Hatchling Games. We talked about his new game (from mechanics to themes to playtesting), Inspiriles, which integrates learning sign language into play, and we discussed how to encourage parents to help their kids start TTRPGs!
Fairies of the Mistglade is a D&D 5e compatible tabletop role-playing game designed for all ages, stepping in difficulty depending on your child’s age. It was engaging, fun, and helped us get over some barriers that my kid was having with counting!
