What is Cozy Companion? 

Cozy Companion is a monthly magazine by Snowbright Studio that covers what’s going on in the world of cozy games and themed activities. It’s got TTRPGs, recipes, experiments, video games, artist interviews, board games all centered around a particular theme (like nautical exploration, bees, or winter). 

Getting this magazine in the mail feels like when I was a kid getting a magazine full of fun puzzles and little games or getting a new little book about a special topic… except this is polished in a way that is engaging for adults too while still being interesting to my kid.

What about Cozy Companion is TTRPGkids covering?

I’m going to be highlighting the TTRPG elements in Cozy Companion and some of the activities from the magazine that paired well with those TTRPG elements. There’s more to the magazine than that (like cozy video games and board games), but I’m focusing on just the TTRPG and activity side of things.

Cozy Companion Volume 25 – June 2026, Farmer’s Markets

Monthly theme

Cozy Companion Volume 25’s theme was all about Farmer’s Markets!  Art, crafts, and game themes all revolved around fresh fruits and veggies, local sustainability, and making tasty treats with your market finds.

TTRPG review of the month

The TTRPG review of the month was a nice surprise for me because it was one of my own games!  I opened the magazine, and, as always, flipped to the back to check the TTRPG review for the month and was like… wait… that’s my cake roll picture… OMG it’s Baker’s, Charge!

Because Cozy Companion does a narrative description of their TTRPG highlights (i.e. describing the game through saying what stories occurred through play), I was able to do a dramatic reading of the review to my kiddo of the baking shenanigans of Gran Gran Fran, Nana Naan, and Big Momma Puddin’ competing in this wholesome baking game that’s meant to be an entry point (or side quest) to tabletop RPGs.  This brought me a lot of joy, and I hope you get to check it out!

Themed recipes and crafts

This month’s recipes and crafts followed the farmer’s market theme with a recipe for making pepper relish with your fresh fruits and veggies and a reusable finger crochet bag to take to the market and carry all your goods!  Both activities are clearly written with the intention that they’ll be relatively easy to do with kids and existing household equipment while still making something nice at the end that any kid or grown up should be proud to share with others.

Other highlights

The shop highlight of the month was another very nice surprise!  It was Vault of Midnight from Michigan… which is one of the FLGS’s!  We frequent the Ann Arbor location, and they’ve got tons of cool games, zines, books, comics, etc that we quite love (our most recent purchase was a Frog and Toad parody set in COVID/post-COVID era).  I’m really happy they did a feature on VoM as it is well deserving of getting some notice.

Cozy Companion Volume 26 – July 2026, Dog Days of Summer

Monthly theme

Cozy Companion Volume 26’s theme was Dog Days of Summer, focusing on canine antics and warm weather vibes.  Features in this edition were on things that can be enjoyed with both dogs and humans and games that feature doggos and their adventures.

TTRPG review of the month

The TTRPG review of the month was Heckin’ Good Doggos by Wet Ink Games!  I’ve reviewed this one before on TTRPGkids and particularly LOVED the narrative storytime parts of the game, so it was wonderful to not only see someone else’s take on this game but to get to read through the adventures they played (again, Cozy Companion uses story to highlight their TTRPG features).  This tale involved doggos Midnight, Smoopy, and Bandit as they try to find a lost kid at the park, and the Cozy Companion review is a good example of how small plothooks can turn into bigger adventures!

Themed recipes and crafts

The July recipe was a tasty looking PB&J bar that also had a second recipe (using the same peanut butter dough) for dog treats so both you and your doggo friend can share snack time together!  

The craft of the month shows how to make a very pretty ceramic windchime mobile using air dry clay AND includes a fun bonus way that you can let your four-legged friend help decorate your windchime’s pieces.

Other highlights

The shop highlight/interview of the month was Fighting Chance Studio, a ceramic dice maker that makes unique d20 dice sets by hand.  It was really cool reading through the process and how Andy, the owner and dicemaker, started the studio – if you like collecting dice, this is a good piece to read.  Plus, the dice featured are beautiful and full of amazing detail.
