What is The Giant’s Causeway?

The Giant’s Causeway is a real-life geological formation found in Northern Ireland comprised of (mostly) hexagonal columns of stone formed by volcanic activity.

Due to it’s unique appearance, many myths swirl around The Causeway, and it is a declared World Heritage Site for its impact on Irish communities and culture.

This brochure is a game where you’ll explore a few of those myths through map creation, optionally using that map for combat, and then destroying the map.  Each phase of game will explore a different myth element.

3 Myths to Play 

Welcome to: The Giant’s Causeway has three phases of play, each covering a different version of the tale of Fionn Mac Cumhaill (commonly called Finn McCool).  

Start with Myth 1, where you play as Finn creating The Causeway to reach his love in Scotland while Granny McCool attempts to thwart him.

Move on to Myth 2, which is optional, to play as both Finn and his rival, Benandonner, as they battle each other on The Causeway that you created in the first phase of the game.

Then, conclude with Myth 3 where the giant Benandonner, terrified by Finn and his wife’s ruse, flees and tears up The Causeway behind him.

1-2 Players

This game can be run with one player via you taking on each role from myth to myth OR it can be run with two players where one plays the parts for Finn (myths 1-2) and the other plays the parts for Benandonner (myths 2-3).
