TTRPGkids Episode 23 on Ludology Podcast

TTRPGkids on Ludology Podcast, Episode 23: Journaling TTRPGs, differentiated learning, and writing practice

TTRPGkids has a regular spot on Ludology Podcast, and in this part of the series, I’ll be talking about educational TTRPGs! Episode 23 talks about how journaling TTRPGs are uniquely positioned to be adjustable for different reading and writing skill levels to allow all players to practice writing while still prioritizing fun!

Ludology podcast is a discussion-based show about the hows and whys of tabletop games! They have longer form episodes every other week, and, on one of the off weeks each month, we have the TTRPGkids show. These shorter episodes will cover topics that are focused on tabletop RPGs for kids and youth, and I’m excited to share the link to the 23rd episode here!

In this episode, I talk about how journaling TTRPGs can be highly adaptable to different student or player skills (ranging from having a buddy help with reading to recording responses to varying response lengths) while still providing a challenge and practice with reading and writing. Above all, they also stay fun! The mechanics are naturally based around reading and writing as part of the imaginative, playful, and engaging experience.
