TTRPGkids interview: Scriv the Bard talks about tabletop games for kids and Bard RPG!

I had the pleasure to chat with Scriv the Bard about her experiences, how she’s blended her background in psychology with a love of gaming, and her current kickstarter, Bard RPG. Scriv has run tabletop RPG’s with kids for a while and has designed Bard RPG based on the insights gained from gaming with kids!

I had a wonderful talk with Adam, about both Game to Grow, a non-profit organization that uses therapeutic gaming to help youth, and Critical Core, a 5e based game specifically designed for building social skills and confidence through gaming. I’ve known Martin as DaddyRolleda1 on twitter for over a year now, and we’ve had chats about playing TTRPG’s with kids from the start – he was one of my inspirations for starting the TTRPGkids blog, and it was an awesome opportunity to get to sit down and chat about his experiences with table top role playing games, working with Wizards of the Coast, and introducing his daughter and her friends to D&D.

I had a great chat with Allen, author of Whispers of the Voidbringer, about his experiences picking up D&D and introducing TTRPG’s to his family. We talked about the influences his children have had on the book, born from a want to share a podcast-like story with his kids, and how to kick off the TTRPG experience with kids!

Interview with Navaar, host of Secret Nerd Podcast about starting kids on tabletop RPGs

I had an awesome chat with Navaar, creator of Secret Nerd Podcast, a diverse interview show about different experiences with tabletop RPGs. As a father of three toddlers, Navaar offered some great insight about concerns that parents may have when starting tabletop RPGs with their young kids and some great questions about next steps. We were able to do a little bit of a reverse interview and hopefully address some of the, probably very common, considerations that parents, teachers, and caregivers make when starting to introduce tabletop RPGs to their children.

Interview with Kristin and Tim, creators of Adorablins!

As soon as I saw Adorablins, I was excited to try it out and interview the creators. It looks super cute and, it turns out, the original version was played with a 2.5yo in mind, so perfect for introducing to my kid! I had a lot of fun chatting with Tim and Kristin about their experiences, their game, and their advice as both parents and creators!

Interview with Michael Low, creator of Starsworn and Luck of Legends!

I previously reviewed Michael’s game, Starsworn and listened to the playthroughs on Stories Podcast, and they were both so good, I kind of had to do an interview. Michael has a lot of experience and insight in playing TTRPG’s with kids and has done wonders for the kids in his educational programs! We talked about the games, advice, why TTRPG’s work so well with kids… so much solidly helpful information.

I have played, reviewed, and really enjoyed Colin’s Family Fantasy RPG’s before, but now I had the opportunity to sit down and have a chat! We talked about Colin’s experiences playing with his kid, how he started writing kid’s games, what he loves about the FamFantasy games, and what’s coming next!

Interview with Host of Raised on DnD, Nick Cardarelli!

I exchanged interviews with Nick from Raised on DnD podcast and had a great time chatting about his introduction to TTRPGs, how he introduced TTRPGs to his kids as young as 2.5, and how gaming has benefited his family! He runs an awesome show that has featured guests including his own kids and Luke Gygax, and he has a clear passion for family gaming that I hope can help inspire you to get into it as well!
