StoryGuider: Campaign funded, and next steps!
The StoryGuider campaign ended yesterday, and it was 100% (and then some) funded!

First, thank you all for the support with this, and I’m incredibly excited to be able to hire artists to illustrate the stories and to get all these stories into physical print formats.
Over the next 8+ months, I’m going to working towards release with the following timeline, which I’ll track through these bi-weekly updates to keep folks in the loop:

- Nov – reformat the Heroes series
- Nov – artists working on Heroes series
- Dec – Heroes series art due
- Dec – Heroes series goes in for test prints
- Jan – reformat the Friends series
- Jan – artists working on Friends series
- Feb – Friends series art due

- Feb – Heroes series prints arrive, complete physical copy reviews
- Mar – reformat the Dragon series

- Apr – Friends series prints arrive, complete physical copy reviews

- May – Friends series prints arrive, complete physical copy reviews
- June – fulfill Friends series for backers
In addition… we hit one of the stretch goals on the last day, which I’m REALLY excited about! For the others, I’m going to be doing a little bit of post campaign funding through the pre-order store and maybe a bit on itchio and ko-fi, depending on if I hit other goals for TTRPGkids this year, to see if we can unlock any additional bonuses before fulfillment in June.

Greeting Games: Fulfillment complete!
All physical and digital rewards for Greeting Games (save the bonus adventure that’s attached to StoryGuider) have been sent out, and should have arrived to backers by this point!
This will be my last update here for Greeting Games, barring any major upsets, and I’m excited to have heard back from a couple folks who have already sent a card or two out to their friends!
If you missed the campaign and want to order cards for holidays or whatnot, keep an eye on my ko-fi shop where I’ll soon be adding bundles of cards OR drop me an email at hello@TTRPGkids.com and I’ll see what we can work out!
October conventions: Ban This Book Fest and GameHole Con
This month, I’ll be sponsoring and boothing at a local convention (Ban This Book Fest) that’s about uplifting marginalized authors and those who have had their books banned in some way. I’ve got all my books and cards stocked for the booth and am pretty excited to be supporting a local event like this! My booth is between booths from a game shop and a book shop that I have visited before, and it’s a nice and odd feeling to know I’ll be set up between them.

And the weekend right after that, I’ll be going to GameHole Con! I’m going to be on three panels at the convention and will be otherwise focusing on attending other panels that focus on building up connections and figuring out business skills in the TTRPG space, setting up interviews with folks, and hanging out with friends.

Despite trying to enourage myself to take it easy, I have already planned probably WAY too many activities for the weekend, but, I think it will be fun either way. My main next steps here are packing… and meeting with all the panel groups to make sure we’re on the same page.

If you want to meet up at GameHole Con, check out my post here and drop me a note!
New campaign announcement: Mystery Snacks!
With StoryGuider closing, I want to share what my next crowdfunding project is going to be….

This will be a short game system, based on Breathless, and a system agnostic mystery anthology that focuses on fun capers that vibe with Saturday morning cartoons.
Right now, this project is released on itchio in digital format only with three example mysteries to solve. The Backerkit campaign would aim to provide a physical copy of the system + existing adventures with updated formatting as the base goal. Then each stretch goal will add a new set of three mysteries (all connected by a common theme) or art.
Sign up here to get ready for its launch in February, and get ready for a lot of food puns!
Game jams: small projects for the soul
And… because some of the big projects may feel too big some days, I like to make smaller games (usually one-pagers) in between chunks of larger projects as a bit of a self-reward. I can finish a whole thing in one day, and it feels good.
So, I’ve signed up for a few game jams, and I’m going to see which ones line up my feelings on a particular day and try to turn some of my ideas on my massive list of “this would make a good TTRPG” sparks into a little game.
The game jams I’m currently eyeing are:
I don’t know which ones or how many of these I’ll be able to participate in, but I’m excited nontheless, and I hope to have some cool one-pagers for you soon.
Thank you for checking out this update and just kind of being interested in what TTRPGkids is doing! I hope it helps with seeing some of the self-pub, crowdfunding, and blog writing process for anyone who is thinking of getting into that themselves!
Until next time…. happy gaming!
