Greeting Games: Surveys, options, next steps

Surveys are on the way!

My core goal for Greeting Games since the last update was to get the surveys out, and… they are currently in review by the Backerkit team! As early as today, some folks may be getting surveys as part of the smoke test to see if things work out on a small quantity before sending out to the larger crowd. If all goes well, my hope is to send surveys out to EVERYONE this weekend.

Late-pledge store is open!

In addition to the surveys, the late orders store is set up! If you missed the campaign or couldn’t back at the time it was running, you can sign up here to late-pledge and get surveys along with the rest of the campaign backers.

Most of the campaign pledge level options are available from the drop down list, and, if you prefer to access the add-ons only or just want to get notified when surveys are available, I recommend selecting the $1 Stamp of Support tier so you can browse and decide later.

Helpful info for picking your cards!

Because there’s lots of card options to pick from when you’re filling out your survey, I also want to use this space to list out what the options are and give some graphics, where possible. If you still have questions on any of these, please feel free to email me at hello@TTRPGkids.com, and I’ll follow up.

ALL STRETCH GOAL CARDS UNLOCKED

Greeting Games next steps

For the rest of July, my main goal is to get the surveys to backers and follow up on any concerns that pop up while folks are filling them out. In parallel, I’ll be keeping in touch with the stretch goal artists to make sure art is finished on time for a quick turn around once surveys are complete.

  • July: Talk to Backerkit about pre-order store for late backers
  • July: Send out surveys
  • Aug: Finalize art
  • Aug: Collect payment and lock addresses
  • Aug: Order cards based on final quantities
  • Sept: Ship cards to backers

StoryGuider: Printopia and pending launch party

Part of Printopia!

My NEXT project, StoryGuider is approaching quickly, and I was having a bit of a hard time finding a Backerkit partner for a while! There weren’t other all-ages friendly TTRPGs launching at the same time as mine, so I was getting a bit concerned about having to push further when I saw that there was a Printopia event going on with Backerkit!

Printopia
books, comics, graphic novels

Because StoryGuider is more of a choose-your-adventure kind of book, it qualified for the event, and I’m glad to have found a spot to rest amongst others. While I have seen a lot of folks have success launching solo, I prefer to launch with a buddy or as part of a group for a few reasons, ranging from the increased exposure to just having some feeling of community associated with the project (which I’m admitting more and more to myself is one of the real reasons besides being able to fun convention travel that I like publishing my work).

Launch party pending

I’m also very close to reaching a milestone…. 100 pre-launch followers! Once I hit this number (and probably have a free day or two to set things up), I’m planning on starting my launch party for the campaign. I’ll be kicking it off with a 100 follower celebration giveaway that will award the winner (prior to the campaign) with a complimentary pledge for the big bundle tier.

Depending on how that goes and if it hits additional milestones, I may add more prizes to the giveaway, but I’m going to wait and see how well recieved the launch party kick off is. I’ve never done a launch party before, so it will be a bit of a new thing for me to try out, and I want to make sure it’s vibing with everyone before committing to add a ton. I also need to watch because I have A LOT of ideas for the launch party, and if I start committing to too many ahead of time, I know I’ll get carried away. I’m hoping to have more info for you soon (and hopefully a launch party kick off) by the next Dev Log!

StoryGuider next steps

My current general timeline for StoryGuider’s pre-launch is:

  • July: reach 100 pre-launch followers
  • July/Aug: kick off teen artists based on pre-funding goals
  • July/Aug: pull ads on indie newsletters/websites
  • Aug: finish the digital doc for Will the Wizard
  • Aug: order prototype print for Will the Wizard (to test out/confirm printer)
  • Aug: start launch party on Backerkit
  • Sept: launch day!

And with regards to pre-funding…

Both itchio and ko-fi are inching closer to hitting another goal, and once they hit, I can kick off more art!

Pre-funding is taking all my digital earnings for right now and putting it towards the project. This, so far, has reduced the total funding needed by about $2k + Backerkit fees associated with that $2k and makes it just a bit easier to hit the baseline goal (and work towards stretch goals) on launch.

You can find the itchio sale here and the ko-fi support page here.
