Camp Make-Believe

The Wanderer’s Tome, the award-winning TTRPG studio, is teaming up with illustrator Moira Scicluna Zahra to launch a brand-new game this August via BackerKit: Frances & Ġorġ: Camp Make Believe — a cosy, beginner-friendly roleplaying game for kids aged 5+ and their grown-ups.

Designed with young players and first-time GMs in mind, this gentle storytelling game requires no prep and no prior experience — just big imaginations, a few dice, drawing tools, and a sprinkle of make-believe!

At Camp Make Believe, kids create their own camper characters and set off on 8 fantastical quests — from helping forgetful mermaids to saving kingdoms from goblins to throwing a dinosaur dance party — all while learning social-emotional skills like courage, empathy, and creativity. After each quest, children reflect on their adventure in a guided debrief that helps them reflect on their choices and feelings — perfect for classrooms, homeschooling, or counselling settings.

For every completed quest, campers earn a sticker badge to proudly add to their character sheet — a playful way to celebrate their progress and learned skill (and let’s be honest, who doesn’t love stickers?).

With simple rules, printable activities, and plenty of room for imagination, Camp Make Believe is perfect for bedtime stories, rainy days, educators in the classroom, or anyone introducing kids to the magic of roleplaying games.

And with subtle cultural nods to the creators’ home country of Malta (a sunny little Mediterranean island), young players may even discover a few fun facts about a new place while they play.

So what are you waiting for? See you around the campfire!
