TTRPGkids Dev Log #7: Greeting Games Poll Winner, ACN shipment, EDU TTRPGs… and more!
Check out the latest on the TTRPGkids works in progress to stay up to date on upcoming releases! This Dev Log will mostly cover a combination of points from A Construct’s Nature (ACN) and Greeting Games as one closes and the other takes priority. I’ll also have some basic info on StoryGuider and other projects that TTRPGkids is working on (like convention panels)!

Greeting Games
Greeting Games is coming to the forefront as ACN is wrapping up, and our poll has finished just in time for us to start working on card designs! The winning card from the Redwyrmling’s ideas is:
Front: It’s you birthday! Make a wish!
Inside: But make sure you word it properly or your GM will twist it into something horrible.
I really liked this one, and I am VERY tempted to try to find a way to incorporate the others too…. will need to see if I can maybe make a plan for the others with Redwyrmling and his dad.
Thank you to all who voted, and here’s the breakdown of the results!

Next week, I’ll be at Origins Game Fair, and I’m busy prepparing for that, but once I get back, I have some action items for Greeting Games:
- Complete mechanics testing for stretch goal cards
- Kick off artists on stretch goal cards
- Talk to Backerkit about pre-order store for late backers
- Get survey ready for distribution in July
If you missed the campaign but want to get notfied for when pre-orders are available, make sure to follow TTRPGkids on Backerkit!
A Construct’s Nature
Shipping!
A Construct’s Nature released last week, and I’ve been VERY busy since then ordering, packaging, and shipping. All digital rewards have been sent, and all books have been ordered. I’ve also shipped all of the special edition boxed sets and ordered all US card sets.
Here’s some of the wrapped boxed sets before they were put into their mailers and sent out into the world:

The only thing left to ship/order are the international cards. These I decided to ship myself (instead of through DTRPG) since they were only shipping from US in a box that was going to be REALLY expensive for international backers, and I found that they met the requirements for envelope shipping and was able to save these backers on shipping cost.
This does take some time though – each one needs a customs form and requires some packaging time. I’m getting these finished this week/this weekend, so you should be recieving them in a week or so.
Because of different shipment methods required for different rewards or addresses, and due to using a POD service, books, cards, and boxed sets all ship separately, so you may recieve multiple packages. The likely schedule for recieving rewards is as follows:
- Limited edition boxed sets – 1-2 weeks
- Orders going to PO boxes – 1-2 weeks
- Card decks (intl) – 1-3 weeks
- Card decks (US) – 3-6 weeks
- All books – 3-6 weeks
That means that some orders might not fully arrive until mid-July, so if you aren’t seeing your books right away, please know that it is ordered, but they need time to print it before shipping. I’ll be keeping an eye on tracking as I get it too and will give you an update when I see that books are on the way.
If you missed the campaign and want to get your copy now, you can order one through DTRPG (physical and digital) or itchio (digital)!
EDU TTRPG stretch goals
There were two stretch goals hit during the campaign to unlock educational TTRPGs!
I didn’t want to delay the rest of fulfillment for these, so I kicked off the books and digital distribution at the start of June and now am getting to the bonus games. AND I HAVE AN UPDATE!
One of the game sponsors, Dan, has chosen SPACE as the theme for one, and Creators Assemble, the org that these games will support, has chosen PROBLEM SOLVING as the theme for the other one. I’m looking forward to making both of these… and I already have quite a few ideas sketched out.
They’ll both be using the Glyfi system, which is tested/released, so my aim with both of these are make classroom-applicable stories that support coursework and educational goals.
My target is to finish these before Origins Game Fair next week so I can have them available both for next week’s update to you AND to be able to share during the EDU & Therapeutics applied gaming conference nested within Origins.
StoryGuider
My late summer project is StoryGuider, which is a collection of 36 choose-your-path style adventures for little kids! Right now, this one is solidly in pre-launch, so follow along on Backerkit to get ready for when we make the game… and you can find the pre-funding campaign here on itchio to get a nice bundle of TTRPGkids games on sale and support the project ahead of time.
The bundle, as of right now, is getting pretty close to unlocking an early release of one of the games (less than $200 away)! As these goals are met before launch, I can kick off artists early and then use the Backekit campaign to instead focus on unlocking more stretch goals versus getting the basic minimum funding for art.
As a note, if you’re only interested in the digital version of StoryGuider, this is your best bet cost-wise. You’ll have the download key for the digital version of StoryGuider, which will get all updated content from the crowdfunding campaign, provided funding is reached.

While it is in pre-launch though…. I have been setting up the foundation for it and doing a lot of prep work. We currently have someone lined up to help with translation into French if we hit the stretch goal for that, and I have a team of artists that I am REALLY excited to hire for the full book set! I’m also working on setting up another stretch goal for having a Spanish translation.
Other TTRPGkids Projects
Aside from this, I am working on maintaining the pacing with reviews, interviews, and etc on the TTRPGkids site AND am working on getting a whole bunch of panels and talks sorted between Origins and GenCon!
With Origins right around the corner, I’ve been finishing up my presentations, and here’s some of the title cards (I had way too much fun making these):

I hope to see some of you at Origins, and… until next time…
Thank you for checking out this update, and I hope this overview of my work is either a good resource for your own project planning or that it’s a nice “keep-up-to-date” spot for what’s going on with TTRPGkids! And, if you have any feedback about how the dev log is set up, please let me know – I’m new to doing this, so I know it’s going to be a bit of a learning process to fine tune it to what I want to share and what people are looking for, and I appreciate the advice.
