Dungeon Alchemist - 3

TTRPGkids Featured Projects: Dungeon Alchemist

Trialed and critiqued by kids during development, Dungeon Alchemist is an intuitive and flexible dungeon-building AI powered tool that has been used with kids as young as 5 to create professional quality dungeons!

*As a note, the intro for this was written by Steph from TTRPGkids, and the below description was written by the creators of Dungeon Alchemist

Dungeon Alchemist is a map-making tool for Fantasy games that uses artificial intelligence to make even the most complex scenery a breeze to create. You choose a size for your map, pick a background, and Dungeon Alchemist does all the rest for you.

Once a background is made, you can select the tiles you want to build on and the type of room you wish to draw, and Dungeon Alchemist adds doors, walls, windows, furniture,…. all by itself. It’s got a library of thousands of assets you can place wherever you like, rotate, scale, or stack.

Intuitive tools make it easy to draw rivers, mountains, pits and hills, or simply add a lot of stuff with a mere brushstroke. Once you’re satisfied with your map, just hit export, and Dungeon Alchemist will create a print-ready format or export to an online virtual tabletop along with all the relevant VTT information (such as lines of sight, walls, doors,…)

Because we’ve been focusing on ease and usability from the very start, Dungeon Alchemist can be learned by anyone in a short time. The developers have young children of their own, and they’ve been their, if not the harshest, continually present critics. Children as young as five can pick up Dungeon Alchemist and create a professional quality map, ready for an encounter, in minutes.

To enable you to create as wide as possible a range of settings, we included light options, that allow you to dynamically change the time of day. The same map can be viewed at different points of the day, or with the sun at different angles, at the click of a button. Nearly everything in Dungeon Alchemist can be adjusted: walls, doors, windows, floors,… everything can be altered until it’s just right.

The possibilities are limitless: from creating a quick tavern for when your players go off the rails to building an immense dungeon for a large campaign: everything is possible. Objects are geared specifically to inspire and will allow inexperienced users to create fascinating stories all on their own. If you find yourself lacking inspiration, or are simply unable to put your ideas to paper, Dungeon Alchemist can be a huge help.

Dungeon Alchemist was conceived as a platform to be expanded upon, and the huge success of the Kickstarter has enabled us to add in a large amount of content over time at no extra cost. It’s a one-time purchase, so without the hassle of licenses or subscriptions, you’ll be able to draw maps indefinitely!

Check out Dungeon Alchemist here and let me know in the comments if you try it out or have any questions!
